Franchisee Stories

Jan, Blue Wheelers Matraville

As I look out the window, a smile appears on my face watching the bright and shiny sun rays highlighting my happy big blue dog, my Blue Wheelers!

Its 7 o’clock in the morning. I start my work early, not wanting big, old Jack (my first appointment) to miss out on the sunny morning and have a nice warm bath. I get outside, plug in the cable to my Blue Wheelers and off I go!

While driving, I think of the appointments I covered yesterday. A busy day, but the cash in the pocket feels great. Time to start planning for the next holiday.

I arrive at Jack's place. His tail waggling with excitement. He sure recognises me as always. I get straight to work and give Jack a good clean scrub, nail clip and groom. One more appointment checked off my list.

I feel its really easy to make friends with dogs. Its all about treating each other well. Many folk find it surprising that I don’t have a furry family member at home, but to be honest, I am so busy with all the wonderful dogs I deal with all day that by the time its evening, I am a happy man.

At the end of the day, all I have to say is that “A Blue Wheelers is a happy happy dog and I am a happy happy fellow with more than just a job”.

Cheers!

Up to three years ago I was an office worker, working 9 to 5.  I started feeling dissatisfied and bored thinking “there has got to be something else for me!”

My partner, Jim and I spoke many times on what options there were for me to change my life. Unfortunately, my father passed away three years ago and when that happened he left me a nest egg.  Now I was seriously looking for something else.

It was a total “Leap of Faith”  when I signed up with Blue Wheelers.  Jim and I joked that if it didn’t work out at least our dogs would have the most expensive bathroom in town. I followed the Blue Wheelers’s business plan and put myself out there and haven’t looked back. Blue Wheelers's Head Office has been extremely supportive and without their expertise I doubt I would have been as successful as I am today.

What I love about my life is no matter what the previous appointment was like, when I arrive at my next client, the dog is so excited to see me with tail wagging madly.

I love that each day is different and I am in control of my life, at last!

Thanks Dad!

Sue Brown, Blue Wheelers North Beach

Once upon a time... as a studious, disciplined and hardworking Manager in Qatar, life seemed usual with a regular routine and not many surprises. I’d have a fixed schedule, report to my superior and work according to rules implemented by others.

All that changed in the year 2009, when I finally decided to buy a Blue Wheelers business and I must say, I couldn’t be any more proud of myself.

The feeling of being my own boss, working according to my schedule and simply interacting with all the lovely dog lovers around my region is refreshing. I have grown up with dogs all my life and cant think of a better business venture.

Blue Wheelers allows me to do something for the community I love. It allows me to set business and personal goals, making me in control of my life, my success and my business.

It took me 10 years to make the decision of purchasing a Blue Wheelers franchisee and wishing I had made the decision sooner would be my only regret.
